It is so unfortunate that on the evening of the 13th July 2016, six (6) vehicles were torched in Boitekong, four (4) belonging to the security company, one (1) to the Rustenburg Local Municipality and one (1) ambulance belonging to the provincial government, following riots by some members of the community who complain about lack of employment opportunities in the neighboring mines and the nearby sewer plant by the Municipality.
Magalies Water (MW) would like to notify ALL consumers on the Vaalkop Water supply scheme about a scheduled ESKOM power supply interruption at the Vaalkop WTW substation. The work forms part of the current plant upgrade and necessitates a power interruption by ESKOM for the removal of the 20MVA temporary transformer and commissioning of the new substation. This will affect power supply to the entire plant which means that no production will be possible during this period.
Kindly be notified that there will be electricity outage due to repairs as follows:
Date: 8 September 2016 (Thursday)
Time: 08:00am until 11:00pm
Affected areas: Protea Park, Donkerhoek, Rietvlei Rural, Geelhout Park areas, Tlhabane West
We apologise for the inconvenience.

The colourful and joyful sod-turning ceremony for the new bridge at the Zinniaville railway crossing in Rustenburg confirmed once again that indeed it is the fastest growing city in South Africa. The day was marked by ululation, melodious chorale music and gratitudes by speaker after speaker and community members, expressing their joy about the new bridge in that specific railway crossing spot as many car and train accidents happened there, thus precious lives being lost in the process.
