Key Council Resolutions taken at the Council sitting that was held on the 27th March 2018 at the Rustenburg Civic Centre

Council took a number of important resolutions in line with our vision of becoming a World Class City. Key decisions taken during the meeting include the following:
Item Number: 66
PROPOSAL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF TLHABANE WEST COMMUNITY RESIDENTIAL UNITS BY PROPLAN TECHNOLOGIES
The Council endorsed the proposal to develop social housing by ProPlan Technologies to develop a social housing in Tlhabane West
ProPlan Technologies have been duly accredited by Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA). The project entails the construction of five hundred (500) family units with the intention of ultimately transferring the finished product to the municipality.
The project aligns with the municipality’s intent to establish an integrated and sustainable spatial city structure that requires improved integration between social amenities, economic opportunities and places of residence. Social Housing is catalytic to the achievement of the Municipality’s plan to deal with apartheid spatial planning and integrate communities.
Social Housing aims to provide clean healthy and safe environments within proximity to services, transport and depends on the maximum capacity of the routes and the development proposed will support the initiative. The proposed development has access to three bus stops in feeder 7 route of Rustenburg Rapid Transport.
